Balchik and vicinities

Balchik is a small resort town on Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, less than an hour drive to the North from Varna. The main attraction in Balchik is the century old palace and the botanical garden that surrounds it. The grasslands and the thinly wooded areas of the steep sea shore between Balchik and Kavarna are full with wildlife: with just a little luck and patience you can easily spot wild turtles and hares, deer and foxes, many species of birds.
